Amazing car wish I could've watched it

During the early 1980s, one of the "performance" car builders purchased a very nice 1981 (last year of that body style) Pontiac Firebird and totally transformed the car into a savage beast. They dropped in a 455 "Super Duty" Pontiac big-block, installed a huge Holley 4bbl carb, custom made the exhaust and a Hurst-shifted 5spd manual transmission.
It was available only in black and actually called "The Bandit" - with the blessing of Burt Reynolds. Definitely better than the 403 Olds-powered, 3spd auto version you could get out of the factory.
As a former cop who is now a trucker, I will always have a special place in my heart for this song.
